What is a POD pocket?
POD stands for proof of delivery. A POD pocket is a transparent pouch on the front of a courier bag with its own adhesive strip. You slide the invoice, packing slip or shipping label into it and seal it, so the paperwork travels with the parcel, stays readable, and stays dry.
Without a pocket, paperwork has to go inside the parcel or be taped to the outside. Taped labels can peel off in transit, and paperwork packed inside cannot be checked without opening the bag.
Choose a bag with a POD pocket if you
- Send a printed tax invoice or packing slip with every order.
- Use a courier that asks for the invoice on the outside of the parcel.
- Print shipping labels on plain paper rather than sticker labels.
- Want the documents to stay readable through rain and handling.
Skip the pocket if you
- Stick a self-adhesive shipping label straight onto the bag.
- Send invoices by email or WhatsApp rather than on paper.
- Ship through a marketplace that prints its own label and does not need paperwork on the outside.
Does a POD pocket cost more?
A little. The pocket is an extra layer of film, so bags with a POD pocket cost slightly more per pack — at current prices the difference works out to well under two rupees a bag, depending on size. Each product page shows both prices side by side.
Everything else is identical: the same 60 micron LDPE film, the same permanent tamper proof seal, and the same sizes. All 13 plain sizes are available both ways.
